WebBatley is a very old town in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086 and was listed in the 1379 Poll Tax. The parish church, All Saints, dates in part, to the 15th century. When we visited in 2002 very little remained of very old Batley. WebFeb 17, 2015 · It always ignites my imagination when I come across an old pub in a derelict former industrial area and consider how it would thrive. There wont be too many of these pubs left now, which is a shame, because a resurgence in niche pubs that are removed from the bustle of the town centre are slowly becoming popular.
