The defining feature of KS is painless, purplish tumors that develop on the skin and in the mouth. In some cases, KS can affect internal organs like the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, intestines, and heart. Webbsarcoma, any type of rhabdomyosarcoma, dermatofi-brosarcoma, Kaposi’s sarcoma, PNET, or epitheloid sarcoma are not eligible. Patients must have five or fewer lung metastases without signs of extra pulmo-nary disease. A radical metastasectomy must be feasi-ble. Patients with other distant metastases and/or local recurrence are not eligible.
