The only thing I can do on buttons, is assign one of the (other) buttons or shift. I have seen videos that there is an "actions" tab, where I can define some OTHER action for the button (like start an application).

So for example holding the shift button allows to change the sensitivity of the thumbsticks. I would use this feature all the time in shooters. Being able to temporarily greatly reduce sensitivity to increase aim, in long distance fights. Magic.
